HOSPITAL SECURITY OFFICER  - Position Overview:  This position is under the direct supervision of the Hospital Supervisor and is responsible for the protection of personnel, customers, and all visitors.  Responsible for following the additional guidelines of the hospital and following all policies and procedures.
 
Essential Job Functions

·         Reports all security events (thefts, suspicious persons, etc.) by completing the departments Security Incedent Report (SIR).
·         Responds immediately to calls for service in order to investigate, document and if necessary establish control in events.
·         Routinely conducts rounds throughout the facility in accordance with healthcare system requirements.
·         Wears a uniform and identification badges as required by the healthcare system.
·         Attends appropriate training and new hire orientation.
·         Knows the facility’s emergency codes and responds to the codes as appropriate.
·         Knows and understand the role of Security Officers in emergency/disaster situations.
·         Completes annual competencies.
 
Requirements

·         Teamwork oriented.
·         Have good stress management/composure.
·         Good ethical conduct.
·         Communication proficiency.
·         Have good customer service skills and be client focused.
·         Must be able to read and write thorough Incident Reports.
  
Education/Other Skills

·         High School Degree required.
·         Knowledge of security requirements.
